MCR Board of Directors

President:   Priscilla Jones

Priscilla lives on Bainbridge Island where she maintains a private Suzuki Cello Studio for students ages 4-adult. Since moving to the island  in 1993, she has helped found the Bainbridge Island Youth Orchestra, and has organized a multi-age group of cellists who call themselves, “Cello Mania.”   Priscilla has also enjoyed playing in local concert series including Music Millennium, Soundscapes, Kitsap Opera, and Chamber Music at Bainbridge Performing Arts.   She is a registered Suzuki Teacher Trainer and  the current coordinator of Chamber Music for the annual Suzuki Association of Washington State Festival.

As a cellist, Priscilla Jones has enjoyed 38 years of freelance work -- symphony, chamber music and recitals including solo performances with the Chicago Chamber Orchestra, South Texas Symphony, and the Oberurseler Kammer Orchester near Frankfurt, Germany, where she and her husband lived for six years.  A native of  New Mexico, Priscilla graduated from the University of New Mexico with a BA in Music Education (emphasis on cello and theory/composition).  She received an MM in Cello Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.    Teachers include Joanna deKeyser, Wolfgang Laufer, and Karl Fruh.   When not with her cello, Priscilla likes to hike, bike and travel.

Vice President:   Brad Yaeger

Brad is a Seattle singer/songwriter who writes dark, mysterious ballards in a roots flavored country / folk style.  He writes from his many influences: Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, and Tom Waits, to name a few.

Secretary:   Norm Johnson

Norm is a long-time supporter of local music and community events. He worked as a chemist for the Navy for 32 years with 20 years as the supervisor of the Scientific Services Branch at the Bangor Submarine Base.  Norm spent 3 years as president and another 3 years as Treasurer of the Island Music Guild on Bainbridge Island and created the Bainbridge Bluegrass Festival that ran from 2006 to 2014. Norm hosted hundreds of local concerts at the Pegasus Coffee House (Bainbridge), Cafe Allegro (Seattle) and many other venues.  He also plays Early Music pieces on the alto recorder as a hobby and enjoys attending Renaissance Faires.

Norm is currently the host of the Coyle Community Center's concert series, "Concerts in the Woods" www.coyleconcerts.com, volunteers at the Coyle Thursday Community Lunch Program and Food Pantry and was a past entertainment and vendor coordinator for the Quilcene Fair www.quilcenefair.com.

Norm is a founding member of MCR.

Treasurer:  John Baker

Cmdr. Jonathan Baker, retired Navy Commander, served as Chief Engineer of the Aircraft Carrier, USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74).  He had been our Stage Manager of the Bainbridge Bluegrass Festival from 2007 - 2014.   John also is a regular volunteer at Wintergrass and the Seattle Folk Life Festival.

Board Member:   Michael Fleckenstein

Michael is retired as Senior Director of Operations for General Growth Properties, after more than 35 years of design and business management experience.  He has been involved in the national folk and country music scene for over thirty years having performed with Tommy Cash, Jack Green, Gordon Lightfoot, and many other notable folk and country artists.  Mike is currently living in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Mike is a founding member of  MCR.

Board Member:  Galena Reiter-Thomson

Galena is a board-certified Music Therapist and a graduate of Michigan State University.  She has worked in community mental health, adult and geriatric mental health and with adolescent offenders.  Galena currently works at the University Neuropsychiatric Institute (UNI) at the University of Utah .  She performs acoustic music. Galena is currently living in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Galena is a founding member of MCR.

Inclusiveness is present in everything we do! We provide live music and music instruction for kids, teens, adults and senior citizens. All styles: classical, folk, country, blues, Bluegrass, Celtic, jazz, rock and more.

We encourage all levels of interest:  beginning, intermediate, and advanced students, emerging musicians, seasoned musicians, and music lovers of all genre.
